The variety of dishes, including unique specialties and well-seasoned rolls, appeals to a wide range of tastes. While service is generally efficient despite the restaurant’s popularity, a short wait time is common but typically viewed as worthwhile. Momosan Waikiki — A Must-Try Spot in Honolulu! The staff was amazing from start to finish, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We had a short wait 15 minutes (even though it’s a popular spot) and didn’t need a reservation, which was a nice surprise. Big shoutout to our waitress, Janzy, for the great service and energy! We tried 3 diffrent meals, Sticky Ribs, Karaage, and Tonkotsu Ramen — all absolutely delicious. Perfect balance of flavor and texture. Washed everything down with a Sake Sangria and a Yuzu Margarita, both refreshing and perfectly mixed. First meal here in Honolulu — and it definitely set the bar high. If you’re visiting, Momosan is a must-stop for a great dining experience.
Our first stop in Waikiki on Wednesday afternoon, 11/19/25. Hostess was so friendly! She greeted us with a smile and was able to seat us quickly. We split the lunch special for $34: softshell crab bao (a little spicy for me, but deliciously worth it), Tonkatsu Ramen (perfectly cooked noodles, savory broth, lovely seasoned egg and chashu pork), and a refreshing IPA. All the servers were very friendly and checked in on us. We asked for other recommendations in the area and they answered with a smile. We sat on their outdoor patio; the chairs and tables were comfortably spaced out. We will definitely visit again on our next trip!
The food and vibes here are fantastic. I had the spicy tan tan ramen and ribs. Both were outstanding. The tan tan has a red curry broth with just the right spice. The ribs super tender with a crunchy sweet spicy coating, it’s brilliant! The Ichiban frozen lager is perfect on a warm day with its frozen topper. The happy hour is amazing with $4 drafts!
This is a great spot. The food was AWESOME. Jaimie was lovely and helpful in picking out a great combo of items. We had the spicy yellowtail roll, spicy tuna roll, and gyoza. The rolls were so fresh, light on the spicy mayo which is amazing. The gyoza was so good!
This restaurant, run by a master chef winner, serves exceptionally high quality Asian cuisine. The sticky ribs had unique flavors and were incredibly tender. The drinks were light and refreshing, perfect for those who prefer a low alcohol option. The sushi was fresh, but it did upset my stomach, likely due to the latenight service. This is always a good indicator of a restaurant’s prowess. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and the service was prompt. We enjoyed our meal outdoors, surrounded by other couples who were also celebrating their holidays.
We popped by this restaurant, only had a short wait to get a table, lovely waitresses and quick customer service. Food came out all at once and very quickly which was great, and we were so full afterwards!! Portions were good sizes to share. The only let down was the bao buns that were slightly soggy but not worth complaining about for the price of the item either. Reasonable pricing especially as Aussies travelling with a not so great currency conversion. Overall an easy place to pop in for a quick easy shared meal.
This spot is great! While staying in for Waikiki for a few days my family came here twice (once for dinner with a local friend who recommended momoson in the first place, and again for lunch/happy hour). The standout was definitely the spicy tan tan ramen. The broth, a red curry base, was delicious and unlike any other ramen I've had anywhere in the world. The noodles were also high quality, and the pork included in the ramen bowls was tasty (and was cut kind of similar to thick cut bacon). I also tried the tonkotsu ramen which was great (not the best I've ever had, but definitely among the better bowls I've had in the US) and the dan dan noodle which was spicy and flavorful (much spicier than the spicy tan tan which I liked). For appetizers, we also tried the pork ribs (apparently the house specialty), the gyoza, and the karage. The gyoza and karage were good and definitely similar to those I've had in the past, but the spare ribs were delicious. They were extremely crispy and the meat was delicious and tender. The sauce reminded me of general Tso's chicken in a good way. So tasty! Their draft beer deals during happy hour were also great and were a much appreciated escape from the hot sun. Overall Momosan is really good and not too expensive given the location! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area and unsure about where to eat.
Excellent service. Very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. Had a heart tonkatsu ramen with a side of some excellent ribs (recommended by the waitress). My complain is the noodles could have been a bit thicker and better utensils (the chopsticks, the bowl, the soup spoon) considering the price point of the location.
